22 boys from Nova Odesa take part in 32 sessions per year, learning craftsmanship and building character alongside mentors. All equipment and materials are free for the boys.
Project mission
Dad’s Workshop provides a creative space for boys of primary school age where they can grow in manliness and increase their self-esteem, practicing how to make useful items with their own hands under the wise guidance of adult male craftsmen.
Expected impact
- Practical handicraft skills - carpentry, electrician, cooking
- Mentoring: experienced men as examples and friends
- Character: responsibility, honesty, perseverance
- Community: a friendly and safe environment with like-minded peers
- Spiritual development: sincere conversations about meaning and vocation
- Real products: everyone makes their own product and takes it home
- Participation and all materials are provided completely free of charge
Schedule of events
The project is designed for 17 sessions per year:
- 16 regular sessions;
- The 17th session is the final meeting (graduation).
Session frequency: once every two weeks.
Successes achieved
- The project was launched in 2025 in Nova Odesa
- In the 2025 group, 10 boys regularly participate in the sessions, and in the 2026 group, 12 boys ages 8–12
- More than 20 practical sessions have been held in three areas
- A mission outreach to a kindergarten and to a nursing home has been organized
- Each participant made his own item and took it home
- A team of experienced male mentors has been formed
Need
The funds will go to:
- Equipment and tools (carpentry, electrical, kitchen)
- Materials: wood, plywood, screws, and nails
- Meals: lunches for the team and treats for the children
- Additional activities: field trips, mission trips, graduation celebration
Total: UAH 140,000 per year.
