In this way, we acknowledge Christ as Lord and Savior and become part of His people by being accepted as members of His Church. Baptism is a symbol of our unity with Christ, forgiveness of sins, and reception of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is performed by immersion in water and is open to those who have faith in Jesus and have shown repentance of sin.
