When we look at children standing near a roll of cut grass, the heart sees not only the beauty of nature, but also a reminder: God grows, preserves, and teaches through ordinary things.<\/em><\/p>\n Such photos are special because there is nothing artificial in them: field, grass, open space, children\u2019s faces, the silence of the earth and labor. There is something deeply biblical in this. Christ often drew people\u2019s attention to the flowers of the field, seed, birds, rain, bread, and harvest. He showed that nature is not just a background for our lives, but a living illustration of God\u2019s character.<\/p>\n A photo of children in a field can speak about childhood, which passes quickly; about love that must be given in time; about faith that should be sown in the heart from an early age; and about God, who sees even a blade of grass, and all the more every child.<\/p>\n When we see mown grass gathered into a large cylinder, we are reminded: everything has its time. The grass grew unnoticed\u2014day by day, under sun and rain. Then it was gathered so that it might become nourishment, provision, and benefit. So it is in spiritual life: much of what matters most happens quietly. A child does not become kind, wise, and believing in a single day. Parents\u2019 words are sown. The atmosphere of the home is sown. Attitudes toward God, work, people, and truth are sown. Sometimes it seems that children do not hear or understand everything, but a child\u2019s heart remembers more than we think.<\/p>\n The Bible speaks about the responsibility of upbringing:<\/p>\n \u201cTrain up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.\u201d Prov. 22:6<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n This is not a mechanical promise, as though a child will never have his or her own struggles or choices. But it is a spiritual principle: what is sown with love, prayer, and consistency has the power to sprout even after many years. Therefore, every good conversation, every time reading the Bible together, every sincere \u201cI love you,\u201d every prayer before sleep\u2014these are not little things. They are seeds.<\/p>\n Ellen White repeatedly emphasized that raising children begins not only with words, but with the atmosphere of the home and the example of adults.
