His testimony stirred the anger of the wicked, but the Lord did not allow them to destroy His faithful servant: He took Enoch to Himself, and he did not see death.<\/em><\/p>\n In the description above, it is easy to recognize Enoch. The Bible says little about him, but those few lines are extraordinarily profound. He lived before the Flood, in a time of moral decline, when humanity was moving farther and farther away from the Creator. Against this dark background, Enoch stood out not because of strength, wealth, or power, but because of his closeness to God.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.\u201d Gen. 5:24<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The expression \u201cwalked with God\u201d means not occasional religiosity, but a constant life in God\u2019s presence. Enoch did not simply know the truth \u2014 he lived by it. His daily decisions, words, relationships, and testimony were all subject to the Lord. That is why his life became a rebuke to people who did not want repentance.<\/p>\n When a righteous person lives in the midst of lawlessness, his faithfulness often seems strange to the world. Enoch was not silent about sin and God\u2019s judgment. He warned people that wickedness would not remain without consequences. The apostle Jude shows that Enoch was a prophetic witness who spoke about the future coming of the Lord and judgment upon ungodliness.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints\u201d Jude 1:14<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n \u201cTo execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.\u201d Jude 1:15<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n For people who do not want to hear the truth, the prophetic word seems like fanaticism. That is why Enoch could have been considered insane: he spoke about judgment when others lived as though God did not exist. He called for holiness when society normalized sin. His life was a living sermon, and that is exactly what irritated the ungodly.<\/p>\n The opening phrase \u2014 \u201cthey accused him of madness and sought to take his life, but God did not allow them to harm His faithful servant\u201d \u2014 fits well with the Adventist understanding of Enoch\u2019s life, also described in the writings of Ellen White. In the book Patriarchs and Prophets, she emphasizes that Enoch was a preacher of righteousness who exposed the sins of his generation and lived in close communion with God.<\/p>\n The Bible summarizes his fate in a special way: he did not die an ordinary death. God took him. This was not an escape from difficulties, but God\u2019s testimony about a man who pleased Him.<\/p>\n \u201cBy faith Enoch was taken to heaven so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.\u201d Heb. 11:5<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n This text reveals the main reason: not human glory, not mysticism, and not special origin, but faith. Enoch pleased God because he trusted Him, obeyed Him, and remained faithful even when it was dangerous.<\/p>\n For Seventh-day Adventists, the story of Enoch has special significance. He is a type of the people who will live before Christ\u2019s Second Coming. Just as Enoch witnessed to the world before the Flood, so God\u2019s end-time people are called to proclaim the gospel, God\u2019s commandments, the call to worship the Creator, and the warning of judgment.<\/p>\n Enoch was taken alive without seeing death. This reminds us of the hope of those faithful ones who will meet Jesus alive at His return.<\/p>\nEnoch is not a legend, but a biblical witness of faithfulness<\/h2>\n
