When the message of deliverance spreads, it brings joy to God\u2019s people and at the same time reveals to others on whose side the Lord is acting.<\/em><\/p>\n In the text of Esther 8:17, we see not only a historical event, but also an important spiritual lesson for our time. The king\u2019s decree reached every province and city, and with it came joy, feasting, and hope. For Adventist understanding, this is a reminder of the worldwide proclamation of God\u2019s message at the end of world history, when the gospel must be heard by all nations. This passage also emphasizes that God\u2019s people become noticeable not through political power, but through God\u2019s evident action, faithfulness, and providence. At the same time, it warns us: outward joining does not always mean true conversion of heart.<\/p>\n In Esther 8:17 it is emphasized that the king\u2019s decree reached \u201cevery province and every city.\u201d This foreshadows that God\u2019s message of salvation is not intended only for a particular group of people. In the New Testament, Jesus says that the gospel will be proclaimed to the whole world before the end.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come\u201d Matt. 24:14<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n For our time, this is especially important. The Adventist Church understands its mission as participation in proclaiming the Three Angels\u2019 Messages to all nations, tribes, languages, and peoples. Just as the decree in Esther\u2019s day changed the atmosphere in the empire, so God\u2019s Word today changes the lives of those who accept the message of mercy, judgment, and faithfulness to Christ.<\/p>\n Where the good news was received, the Jews had joy and gladness. This teaches us that true salvation brings not only formal safety, but also inner joy. When God intervenes, His people do not merely survive\u2014they receive peace and confidence.<\/p>\n \u201cLight is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart\u201d Ps. 97:11<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n In our time, when the world is filled with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty, Christians are called to testify to a different reality\u2014hope in God. The joy of God\u2019s people does not mean the absence of trials, but it points to trust in the Lord even in the midst of crisis. Ellen White repeatedly emphasized that in the last days God\u2019s people will be distinguished not by earthly glory, but by quiet confidence in God\u2019s leading and faithfulness to His commandments.<\/p>\n The passage says that many people from the peoples of the land \u201cbecame Jews,\u201d because fear of the Jews fell upon them. This shows that God\u2019s action became so obvious that those around them could no longer remain indifferent toward God\u2019s people. In the spiritual sense, this foreshadows the time when the world will see the difference between those who serve God and those who do not serve Him.<\/p>\n \u201cThen you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him\u201d Mal. 3:18<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n This matters for the end time. The book of Revelation shows that before the Second Coming the whole earth will be faced with a choice. People will see the contrast between faithfulness to God\u2019s law and the spirit of apostasy. But it is important to remember: our witness should reveal not pride, but humble devotion to Christ.<\/p>\n The phrase that many became Jews out of fear also contains a serious warning. Some were led not by love for the truth, but by the pressure of circumstances. The same happens today: some seek God sincerely, while others do so only when they feel danger or pressure.<\/p>\n \u2018These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.\u2019 Matt. 15:8<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n God desires not outward affiliation, but a transformed heart. That is why in the last days the issue will not only be who formally considers themselves believers, but who truly loves the truth and is ready to obey God. The Adventist understanding of final events emphasizes that ultimate faithfulness will be revealed not in words, but in character, worship, and obedience.<\/p>\n The events in Esther show that when God protects and leads His people, it becomes a testimony to those around them.
