\u201cHow do I come to Christ?\u201d \u2014 a question with a short and honest answer.<\/b> You do not need complicated rituals. You do not need to \u201cbecome better first.\u201d You do not need to know everything. The Bible describes this moment with surprising simplicity \u2014 and yet it changes everything. Here are specific steps, what it means to \u201caccept Christ,\u201d what prayer you can say, and what comes next.<\/p>\n

The shortest biblical formula<\/h2>\n

The Bible gives it directly:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.\u201d Rom. 10:9<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Two steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Believe in your heart<\/b> \u2014 that Jesus rose from the dead.<\/li>\n
  2. Confess with your mouth<\/b> \u2014 that He is the Lord of your life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This is not a \u201cmagic formula.\u201d It is an honest inner decision expressed in words. You do not need any \u201cwitness,\u201d anything \u201cofficial.\u201d God hears you Himself.<\/p>\n

    Why this works \u2014 and why it is not \u201ctoo easy\u201d<\/h2>\n

    Many people react: \u201cCan it really be that simple? What about good works, merit, a holy life?\u201d<\/p>\n

    The Bible answers directly:<\/p>\n

    \u201cFor by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.\u201d Eph. 2:8\u20139<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Salvation is a gift<\/b>, not wages. You do not \u201cearn\u201d salvation by good works. You receive it \u2014 like receiving a gift. Simply open your hand and say \u201cyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

    And then \u2014 good works. But they are the result<\/i>, not the cause. First \u2014 Christ. Then \u2014 a new life.<\/p>\n

    What it means to \u201caccept Christ\u201d<\/h2>\n

    It is more than \u201cagreeing that God exists.\u201d It means:<\/p>\n

    1. Admit that I cannot manage on my own.<\/b> I am a sinner, not someone who has \u201cjust made a few mistakes.\u201d I need forgiveness.<\/li>\n
    2. Accept that Jesus died for me.<\/b> Not \u201cfor humanity in general,\u201d but personally for me.<\/li>\n
    3. Hand over control to Him.<\/b> Not \u201cJesus is a friend,\u201d but \u201cJesus is Lord.\u201d That is the difference.<\/li>\n
    4. A willingness to change.<\/b> Not \u201cI will change myself first.\u201d But \u201cI am willing for You to change me.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The first step \u2014 an honest prayer<\/h2>\n

      You can say it like this. Not \u201cthe right words,\u201d but honest ones:<\/p>\n

      \u201cLord Jesus, I come to You.<\/i><\/p>\n

      I know that I am a sinner. I have done things I have no right to justify. I cannot manage myself. I cannot handle life the way I should.<\/p>\n

      I believe that You are God. That You died on the cross for me. That You rose from the dead. That You are alive now and hear me.<\/p>\n

      I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Forgive my sins \u2014 all the ones I remember and the ones I have forgotten. Cleanse me with Your blood.<\/p>\n

      I do not know what comes next. I do not know how to change. I do not know how to pray \u201cproperly.\u201d But I want to follow You. I give You this life \u2014 just as it is right now.<\/p>\n

      Give me the Holy Spirit to help me. Give me the Word so I may understand. Give me people who will help me grow.<\/p>\n

      I am Yours. Lead me.<\/p>\n

      In Your name. Amen.<\/i>\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

      If you have just said this \u2014 or something of your own with the same meaning \u2014 and it was from your heart, then God heard you<\/b>. You are His child. That is a fact, not something that depends on your emotions at this moment.<\/p>\n

      What you may feel, what to expect<\/h2>\n

      Many people expect \u201cthunder from heaven,\u201d \u201can explosion of joy,\u201d or \u201cinstant change.\u201d Reality can be different:<\/p>\n
