When a person reads the Bible with an open heart, the Holy Spirit uses the Word as an instrument \u2014 revealing hidden motives, correcting thinking, healing emotional wounds, and strengthening faith.<\/p>\n<h2>A weapon in spiritual warfare<\/h2>\n<p>The apostle Paul calls the Word of God part of the spiritual armor:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTake the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ephesians+6:17&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eph 6:17<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus in the wilderness, when the devil tempted Him, answered each time: \u201cIt is written&#8230;\u201d \u2014 and quoted Scripture. <b>The Word of God is a practical weapon<\/b>, which repels spiritual attacks. Whoever does not know Scripture is defenseless in the battle for the mind and heart.<\/p>\n<h2>The path to personally knowing God<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSearch the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+5:39&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 5:39<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus said: the Scriptures testify of <i>Me<\/i>. The Bible is not an end in itself. It leads to a living relationship with Christ. Whoever reads it regularly and thoughtfully gradually comes to know God not as an abstraction, but as a Person who can be trusted.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<p>Spiritual life without regular Scripture reading is like a body without food. It may still seem to move, but it grows weaker and weaker. For the Word to truly shape life:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Read daily \u2014 at least one chapter with reflection.<\/li>\n<li>Pray before reading \u2014 ask the Spirit to open the meaning.<\/li>\n<li>Look for specific application \u2014 how does this touch my life today?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Bible is important not because it is a religious duty.
