Even if the seed does not sprout at once, the soil absorbs the water, and the seed begins to swell. <b>There is a result, even if it remains unseen for a time.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The same is true of God\u2019s Word. It may be read for years without visible change\u2014and then suddenly, in a moment of crisis, a person remembers a verse heard long ago, and it becomes exactly what holds them up. <i>The Word was not lost. It was in the soil of the heart.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>\u201cIt shall accomplish My will\u201d \u2014 God is the Initiator<\/h2>\n<p>An important detail: the Word accomplishes <b>God\u2019s will<\/b>, not the will of the reader. God has a purpose for every word of Scripture. Sometimes a person reads and does not understand\u2014but that does not mean the word is not at work. The Holy Spirit is working even when a person is not yet aware of it.<\/p>\n<p>That is why Ellen White emphasized that the Bible is worth reading even when you do not \u201cfeel inspired.\u201d God speaks regardless of our mood.<\/p>\n<h2>Connection with Sabbath School<\/h2>\n<p>Isaiah 55:11 is the memory verse of the lesson about God\u2019s Word. It reminds Sabbath School of one principle: <b>Bible study is never in vain<\/b>. A week of reading, reflection, and discussion is a week in which God\u2019s Word \u201cgoes forth\u201d and does its work in hearts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Thessalonians+2:13&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Thess 2:13<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<p>Isaiah 55:11 is a reminder in moments when it seems that reading \u201cdoes nothing\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>God\u2019s Word is at work\u2014even when you do not feel it.<\/li>\n<li>Regularity is more important than inspiration.<\/li>\n<li>What is sown in the heart through Scripture will sprout at the right moment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u201cIt does not return empty\u201d is God\u2019s promise, not human experience.
