Before that\u2014there was neither earth, nor human history, nor the change of days. If there is a \u201cbeginning,\u201d then there is also a starting point of time. The act of creation <b>sets in motion the sequence of events<\/b>: days, years, generations.<\/p>\n<p>God is not limited by this time\u2014He initiated it:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBefore the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+90:2&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ps 90:2<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>The apostle John: \u201cIn the beginning was the Word\u201d<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... All things were made through Him.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+1:1-3&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 1:1\u20133<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>John deliberately repeats the opening of Genesis: \u201cIn the beginning.\u201d Everything that exists\u2014including time\u2014came into being through Christ as the Word of God. <b>Creation is an act of the Trinity<\/b>, and time is part of what came into existence within it.<\/p>\n<h2>God established the structure of time<\/h2>\n<p>God not only initiated time\u2014He gave it structure. The weekly cycle, especially the seventh-day Sabbath, reflects this structure:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Exodus+20:11&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Exod 20:11<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The week is not a natural phenomenon (unlike the day and the month, which are determined by the movement of heavenly bodies). It is <b>an institution established by God<\/b>.
