No one becomes a \u201cpriest\u201d by personal merit. An ordinary Israelite could not do this. Every believer is a priest and comes to God personally.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cKingdom\u201d \u2014 mission in the world<\/h2>\n<p>The apostle Peter uses a similar image:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Peter+2:9&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Pet 2:9<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To be a \u201ckingdom\u201d means not merely to have dignity, but to have a <b>mission<\/b>: to reveal the King \u2014 Christ \u2014 in your surroundings. Priests in the Old Testament also taught, offered sacrifices, and blessed. In the same way, the believer: his way of life, service, and words \u2014 these are priestly work in daily life.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<p>Understanding this verse changes the believer\u2019s self-understanding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prayer is not a request through a mediator, but <i>personal access to the Father<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>Daily life is no less \u201cspiritual\u201d than Sunday worship. It is <i>priestly work<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>Everyone has a mission \u2014 regardless of position in the church.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u201cA kingdom and priests\u201d is not an elite status, but God\u2019s calling for every believer.
