It is in <i>what Scripture is and what happens when people open it together<\/i>.<\/p>\n<h2>The goal: not merely to know, but to grow<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAll Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Timothy+3%3A16-17&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Tim 3:16\u201317<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul emphasizes: the purpose of studying Scripture is <b>not only information, but transformation<\/b>. \u201cSo that the man of God may be complete\u201d \u2014 this is not knowledge about God; it is character that reflects God.<\/p>\n<p>The Sabbath School lesson is designed to immerse the church each week in a particular text or topic \u2014 systematically, from different angles, in community. It does not replace personal reading, but it gives what personal reading cannot: a diversity of experience and questions.<\/p>\n<h2>How to study the lesson correctly<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Read throughout the week, not only on Sabbath.<\/b> The lesson is divided into days \u2014 and this is not accidental. Regular immersion in the text gives a depth that one-time reading does not.<\/li>\n<li><b>Ask questions, not just read answers.<\/b> A good Sabbath School class discussion is where people bring their questions, not just the right answers.<\/li>\n<li><b>Look for personal application.<\/b> Before each section, it is helpful to ask: \u201cWhat does this truth mean for my specific day this week?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sabbath School as a community, not just a class<\/h2>\n<p>The Word of God is opened in community. The one who comes with pain hears the text differently. The one who is experiencing joy sees another dimension. <b>The diversity of the participants\u2019 experiences is part of God\u2019s design for shared study.<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLet the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Colossians+3%3A16&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Col. 3:16<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>Sabbath School is not a lecture to sit through.
