And Scripture itself points to the goal of this process:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAll Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Timothy+3%3A16&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Tim. 3:16<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Ask: what does God want to say through this text?<\/h2>\n<p>The first and most important question when reading any Bible lesson is not \u201cwhat is written here,\u201d but <b>\u201cwhat does God want to say to me personally through this text today?\u201d<\/b> This reorients your reading: you are looking not for information, but for an encounter.<\/p>\n<h2>Three questions for finding the main idea<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>What does this say about God?<\/b> \u2014 every lesson reveals some aspect of His character.<\/li>\n<li><b>What does this say about humanity?<\/b> \u2014 what condition of the heart, what need, what error, or what grace is being described.<\/li>\n<li><b>What is the practical application?<\/b> \u2014 what specifically can I do or change this week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The answer to these three questions is the main point of the lesson for you.<\/p>\n<h2>Look for the key verse<\/h2>\n<p>Often a lesson has one central verse around which the whole message is built. When you find it, read it several times, write it down, and carry it with you throughout the week. <b>One verse lived out and applied is more precious than ten read and forgotten.<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBlessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Revelation+1%3A3&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rev. 1:3<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Highlight key verses with a marker or write them down separately.<\/li>\n<li>Pause at what \u201cgrips\u201d you\u2014do not pass by the moment when the Word touched your heart.<\/li>\n<li>Ask yourself at the end: \u201cWhat one thought stayed with me? What do I want to remember tomorrow?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The goal of studying Scripture is not to make a complete outline, but to meet the living God in the text and come away changed.
