Regular Bible reading is one of the main channels of this renewal.<\/p>\n<h2>How the Word changes us in practical ways<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>It reveals what God is like<\/b> \u2014and when you see Him more clearly, the picture of your own condition also becomes more realistic.<\/li>\n<li><b>It exposes patterns of thought<\/b> \u2014fears, resentments, false beliefs that we carry for years.<\/li>\n<li><b>It gives hope<\/b> \u2014not general hope, but specific hope: promises that speak to the real situation of a real person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to read in order to receive<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Start with prayer: \u201cLord, speak to me through Your Word today.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Read slowly, without trying to cover a large amount.<\/li>\n<li>When something \u201ccatches\u201d you\u2014pause. That is exactly where the Holy Spirit is speaking personally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Bible changes not those who read it correctly, but those who read it openly.
