It is the refusal of <b>putting yourself at the center<\/b>: your plans, your offenses, your need to control. It is the acknowledgment: \u201cGod knows better than I do, and I trust Him even when I do not understand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is precisely in this surrender that freedom is born. A person who stops trying to control everything also stops carrying the burden of everything.<\/p>\n<h2>Where peace comes from\u2014even in suffering<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+4%3A7&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil 4:7<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul wrote these words from prison. Not \u201cif all is well.\u201d <b>\u201cThe peace of God\u201d is not the absence of difficulties, but the presence of God in difficulties.<\/b> Whoever walks the way of the cross discovers that Christ walks beside them. And this very presence is the source of peace.<\/p>\n<h2>Where spiritual strength comes from<\/h2>\n<p>A person who has given up relying on their own strength as the final resource discovers another resource:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+4%3A13&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philippians 4:13<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>This is not enthusiasm or self-suggestion. It is the experience of a person who has come to the end of their own possibilities\u2014and discovered the One who stands there.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Peace and strength on the way of the cross are not a reward for endurance. They are the presence of Christ in what you carry.<\/li>\n<li>When it becomes hard\u2014do not ask \u201cwhy,\u201d but ask \u201cwhere are You here, Lord?\u201d This prayer opens the eyes to His presence.<\/li>\n<li>The cross that is taken up daily is not a catastrophe. It is a way of living in dependence on God, rather than on your own resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The way of the cross is paradoxical: where you deny yourself, you find yourself. Where you acknowledge your weakness, strength is revealed. This is not human wisdom.
