This question arises regularly \u2014 and therefore it is important to answer precisely: Ellen White nowhere directly wrote that Orion is the dwelling place of God or of His throne.<\/b><\/p>\n

What she actually wrote<\/h2>\n

The best-known passage is in \u201cEarly Writings\u201d (p. 41). There she describes a vision of the last events: \u201cThrough the open space in Orion came the glory of the Father\u201d<\/b>. This is a symbolic prophetic vision \u2014 not an astronomical or theological treatise.<\/p>\n

She does not explain in detail what this \u201copen space\u201d is. She does not say: \u201cGod lives there\u201d or \u201cThis is Paradise.\u201d She describes the way in which, in the vision, the glory of the Father appeared \u2014 through a certain open space in the constellation.<\/p>\n

What the Bible says about God and place<\/h2>\n

\u201cHeaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool.\u201d Isaiah 66:1<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cHeaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You \u2014 how much less this temple I have built.\u201d 1 Kings 8:27<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scripture consistently emphasizes: God is not limited by space.<\/b> He fills heaven and earth (Jer 23:24). The idea that His \u201cthrone\u201d is located in a specific constellation contradicts the biblical understanding of the nature of God.<\/p>\n

  • Distinguish symbolic prophetic vision from a theological statement.<\/li>\n
  • White herself emphasized: Scripture is the highest authority, and her visions never contradict the Word.<\/li>\n
  • The center of Adventist eschatology is Christ, who is returning, not the location of Orion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The answer is simple: White saw in vision an image through which the glory of the Father came. She did not write a theological doctrine about God and Orion.
