But who are these \u201clittle ones\u201d whom angels guard?<\/b> The answer depends on the context of the whole chapter.<\/p>\n<h2>Text and context<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSee that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of My heavenly Father.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew+18:10&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt. 18:10<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In Matthew 18, Jesus uses a child as a visual example (verses 2\u20134), but in verse 6 He shifts to those \u201cwho believe in Me\u201d\u2014that is, the disciples. \u201cThese little ones\u201d (Greek <i>mikroi houtoi<\/i>) in the following context means <b>all disciples of Christ, regardless of age<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2>Guardian angels and their ministry<\/h2>\n<p>Scripture speaks more broadly about angelic protection:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAre they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+1:14&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 1:14<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The protection of angels is not a privilege of childhood, but a reality for all who belong to God. <b>Children are included, but they are not the only ones being guarded.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>What is important in the text<\/h2>\n<p>Jesus emphasizes not the mechanism of protection, but the <b>dignity of every little disciple<\/b>: their angels have direct access to the Father. This underscores the value of every person in the Kingdom\u2014even the one people are inclined to disregard. To \u201cdespise a little one\u201d means to despise someone protected by an angel with access to God Himself.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Angels guard all disciples of Christ\u2014both children and adults.<\/li>\n<li>To \u201cdespise a little one\u201d is a serious spiritual danger, about which Jesus warns directly.<\/li>\n<li>Every person in the community of disciples is under God\u2019s special care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Matt. 18:10 is not just a text about angels.
