They form a harmonious system in which each reflects a different aspect of our relationship with God and our neighbor.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Tithe is holy to the Lord<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord\u2019s. It is holy to the Lord.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Leviticus+27:30&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lev 27:30<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tithe\u201410% of income\u2014is not, in Scripture, a \u201cdonation\u201d in the usual sense. It is <b>an acknowledgment of God\u2019s ownership<\/b> over everything. It goes to the support of ministers\u2014so that they may fully devote themselves to ministry. Malachi 3:10 invites us to \u201cbring all the tithes into the storehouse\u201d\u2014this is the infrastructure of the Kingdom.<\/p>\n<h2>Freewill offerings are an expression of love<\/h2>\n<p>Beyond tithe are offerings: for mission programs, for building projects, for local church needs. Paul describes the principle of such gifts:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLet each one give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Corinthians+9:7&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Cor 9:7<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A freewill offering is the language of love: I give not because I have to, but because I want to see God\u2019s work in the world.<\/p>\n<h2>Helping the poor is justice and mercy<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be heard.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs+21:13&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prov 21:13<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Caring for the poor is a separate category that expresses the very heart of the Gospel\u2019s social justice. In Matthew 25:35\u201340, Jesus identifies Himself with the hungry and the homeless. This is not an \u201coption\u201d for those who have time\u2014it is a test of the genuineness of faith (James 2:14\u201317).<\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Tithing<\/b> \u2014 basic faithfulness that puts God first in finances.<\/li>\n<li><b>Offerings<\/b> \u2014 an expression of personal devotion and a vision for mission.<\/li>\n<li><b>Help for the poor<\/b> \u2014 a practical expression of love for one\u2019s neighbor in the spirit of Luke 10:27.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>God does not need our money\u2014He sees what happens to our hearts when we share it.
