Everyone who has read the Bible for years notices one strange phenomenon: the same verses that once seemed clear suddenly open up new meanings \u2014 at a different moment in life, in a different condition of the heart.<\/b> Ellen White explained this not by psychology, but by the nature of the Word itself.<\/p>\nThe infinite depth of a single biblical truth<\/h2>\n
In the book Education, White states one of the deepest principles of her approach to Scripture: no human mind can exhaust even one biblical truth during earthly life. The reason is simple:<\/p>\n
\"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,\" says the Lord. Isa 55:8<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
God is the infinite Mind. His Word reflects this infinity. When we read the Bible \u2014 we draw near to the infinite, and therefore we will never reach the end of knowledge<\/b>.<\/p>\n
This is an invitation, not a sentence<\/h2>\n
White did not speak of the inexhaustibility of Scripture as an obstacle. On the contrary \u2014 as the unfinished joy of the seeker<\/b>. A scholar who digs a vein of gold does not grieve that it is deep. He rejoices that it is there.<\/p>\n
