No\u2014it is a difference in theological purpose and audience.<\/p>\n<h2>The \u201cMessianic secret\u201d in the Synoptics<\/h2>\n<p>In Mark this is especially noticeable: after healings Jesus says, \u201cTell no one.\u201d The reason is <b>false expectations<\/b>. The people of Israel were waiting for a warrior Messiah who would deliver them from Rome. A premature announcement would have caused revolt and undermined the true mission of Jesus.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd He strictly warned them that they should not make Him known.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+3:12&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark 3:12<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Openness in the Gospel of John<\/h2>\n<p>John wrote for a different audience\u2014possibly for Greek-speaking readers already familiar with the outcome of Christ\u2019s ministry. His purpose is <b>theological: to show that Jesus is the Logos, the eternal Word of the Father<\/b>. Therefore, he selects episodes where Jesus speaks openly about His divine nature (John 5:19\u201329, John 8:58, John 10:30).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI and the Father are one.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+10:30&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 10:30<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Difference is not contradiction, but complement<\/h2>\n<p>The four Gospels are not four competing versions, but <b>four illuminations of one Person<\/b> from different angles. Mark shows Jesus in action (the Messiah-Servant). John shows Jesus in the eternal dimension (the Messiah-Word).
