This is not \u201cremoving the Bible\u201d \u2014 it is honest textual scholarship: the manuscripts differ, and the science of translation takes that difference into account.<\/p>\n<h2>What remains reliable<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cRise, take up your bed and walk.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+5:8&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 5:8<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The sick man waited 38 years for the \u201cfirst moment after the stirring\u201d \u2014 and could not make it. Jesus came and healed him with a word. <b>The point of the text does not change<\/b>: He does not need any ritual or \u201csacred time.\u201d He Himself is the source of healing \u2014 and the miracle depends on Him, not on tradition.<\/p>\n<h2>Did people believe in the angel at that time<\/h2>\n<p>Verse 7 shows that the sick man himself believed in the tradition about the water. People gathered by the pool precisely because of that belief. The evangelist preserved the context, <b>to show that Jesus came exactly there, where people were seeking healing by another way<\/b>.
