It is <i>the first field of ministry<\/i>.<\/p>\n<h2>God\u2019s order: family is the primary ministry<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.\" <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Timothy+5:8&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Tim 5:8<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The apostle Paul speaks plainly: the one who neglects his household under any pretext\u2014even a \u201creligious\u201d one\u2014violates a basic principle. <b>Ministry to the church does not justify neglecting the family.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>What the Spirit of Prophecy says<\/h2>\n<p>Ellen White wrote much about this tension. She emphasized that the family altar is the primary responsibility of every minister. A man who impresses his family with his position in the church, but does not build living relationships with his wife and children, is building on sand.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical steps<\/h2>\n<p>If ministry is already harming the family:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>An honest conversation with your wife<\/b> \u2014 without defensiveness and without accusations. What exactly is falling apart? Where does the boundary begin?<\/li>\n<li><b>A conversation with the conference leadership<\/b> \u2014 pastors have the right and the duty to speak about the condition of their family. The Church is not a machine that squeezes people dry.<\/li>\n<li><b>Reviewing the schedule<\/b> \u2014 perhaps some of the \u201curgent\u201d ministry can actually wait.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cUnless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+127:1&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ps. 127:1<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>What this does not mean<\/h2>\n<p>This does not mean \u201cministry is the enemy of the family.\u201d A healthy minister\u2019s family is the most powerful testimony and the most reliable foundation for effective ministry. <b>These two realities are not rivals \u2014 they are allies, if there is proper balance between them.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>God gave you first to your family \u2014 and only then to the conference.
