A calling is not a position from which one can be \"dismissed.\" It is an inner reality that God has placed in a person\u2014and circumstances do not cancel it.<\/p>\n<h2>Biblical examples of forced pauses<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Moses<\/b> \u2014 40 years in Midian after the failure of his first attempt. The calling did not disappear\u2014it matured.<\/li>\n<li><b>Elijah<\/b> \u2014 fled into the wilderness, asking for death. God fed him, gave him rest, and sent him on.<\/li>\n<li><b>Paul<\/b> \u2014 three years in Arabia after conversion. Not \"ministry\" in the traditional sense\u2014but a time of formation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\"He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.\" <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah+40:29&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isa. 40:29<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Practical questions about a break<\/h2>\n<p>If the conference allows a break of up to 5 years while preserving years of service, this is an administrative norm that reflects the understanding that <b>a minister is a person, not a resource<\/b>. It is worth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Speaking openly with the conference about the circumstances and time frame.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining spiritual practices (prayer, the Word, community)\u2014even without official ministry.<\/li>\n<li>Viewing the pause as \"Arabia\"\u2014a time of deepening, not the end.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>A calling is not a status. It is a voice that does not fall silent even in the quiet of a pause. God patiently waits until conditions change.
