But this always serves as an invitation, not compulsion.<\/p>\n<h2>Jonah is a classic example<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\"The Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.\" <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Jonah+1:4&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonah 1:4<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The storm was not an accident and not a punishment. It was <b>God's \"stop\"<\/b> for the prophet who was fleeing from his calling. Every step \"away from the Lord\" (Jonah 1:3, 1:5)\u2014and every detail of the storm\u2014shows God, who had not yet let His servant go.<\/p>\n<h2>Nature is in God's hands<\/h2>\n<p>Scripture shows that God is not confined to the \"supernatural.\" He can speak through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Storm and calm (Ps 107:25\u201329)<\/li>\n<li>Famine and provision (1 Kings 17\u201318)<\/li>\n<li>Illness and healing (John 5)<\/li>\n<li>Even a \"great fish\" (Jonah 1:17)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These means are <b>the language of Providence<\/b>. They draw attention, but do not break the will.<\/p>\n<h2>Freedom remains<\/h2>\n<p>Three days in the belly of the fish\u2014and Jonah <b>chose<\/b> to pray and turn to God (Jonah 2). God did not force him. He created circumstances in which this became possible. <b>External circumstances open the heart\u2014but the decision remains with the person.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Difficulties in life may be a \"Jonah storm\"\u2014God's stop before a wrong direction.<\/li>\n<li>The question is not \"why is this happening to me?\" but \"what does God want to say to me through this?\"<\/li>\n<li>Providence is not punishment. It is a form of love that does not let a person pass by without stopping.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>God can use any circumstance for His purpose\u2014a great fish, a minor illness, or the loss of a job.
