The voice of your brother\u2019s blood cries out to Me from the ground\u201d (Gen. 4:10).<\/b> But does blood literally \u201cspeak\u201d? And what does this mean theologically?<\/p>\n<h2>Anthropomorphism: God \u201chears\u201d what people ignore<\/h2>\n<p>The expression \u201cblood cries out\u201d is <b>figurative language describing God\u2019s response to injustice<\/b>. God does not \u201cliterally\u201d listen to the sound of blood. But He sees and knows every murder of the innocent\u2014even those hidden from people.<\/p>\n<p>This is a reminder: before God, there is no \u201cunnoticed\u201d crime. The ground that has absorbed the victim\u2019s blood becomes a witness before the Creator.<\/p>\n<h2>Abel\u2014the first \u201cmartyr\u201d in Scripture<\/h2>\n<p>In the Epistle to the Hebrews, Abel is described as one \u201cwho still speaks\u201d through his death:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBy faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain&#8230; and through it he still speaks, although he is dead.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+11:4&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 11:4<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cStill speaks\u201d is not the literal speech of blood, but <b>the living testimony of his faithfulness<\/b>: it inspires and bears witness through the centuries.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cThe blood of Abel\u201d and \u201cthe blood of Jesus\u201d<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou have come to&#8230; Jesus, the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks better things than that of Abel.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+12:24&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 12:24<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Abel\u2019s blood \u201ccried out\u201d for vengeance and justice. Christ\u2019s blood \u201cspeaks\u201d of forgiveness and reconciliation. <b>The New Testament does not silence the victim\u2014it answers that cry.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>God hears the blood of the innocent\u2014this is the basis for justice, not for despair.<\/li>\n<li>No evil remains \u201cunseen\u201d before God\u2014Abel and the millions after him are witnesses before the heavenly Judge.<\/li>\n<li>The blood of Christ is the answer to all this \u201ccry\u201d\u2014and it \u201cspeaks better.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The \u201cvoice of blood\u201d in Abel\u2019s case is not a gruesome image. It is a declaration: God is not indifferent.
