In those same books, White also writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cJesus accepts human beings as they are\u2014with all their weaknesses and shortcomings\u2026 He does not wait for them to improve before receiving them.\u201d \u2014 <i>Steps to Christ<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These two statements do not contradict each other if we understand the difference between <b>justification<\/b> (acceptance before God at the moment of conversion) and <b>sanctification<\/b> (the ongoing process of growth).<\/p>\n<h2>Justification and sanctification are different realities<\/h2>\n<p>White clearly follows gospel logic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Justification<\/b> \u2014full and undeserved acceptance in Christ through faith.<\/li>\n<li><b>Sanctification<\/b> \u2014the lifelong process of growing into Christlikeness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ephesians+2:8&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eph. 2:8<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Holiness is the fruit, not the price<\/h2>\n<p>If White is read in full context\u2014 <b>she does not teach, \u201cStop sinning in order to be saved.\u201d<\/b>. She teaches: \u201cCome to Christ\u2014and He will give you power to live differently.\u201d Change is the result of salvation, not the condition for receiving it.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not read White through isolated quotations\u2014only in the context of her whole system of thought.<\/li>\n<li>Calls to holiness are encouragements, not threats.<\/li>\n<li>The power for a holy life comes from the Holy Spirit, not from human effort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>White is a passionate apologist for grace and a passionate apologist for holiness.
