Their argument is that Hebrews supposedly says Christ entered the Most Holy Place immediately after Golgotha\u2014therefore, there could have been no \u201cinvestigative judgment\u201d in 1844. But does the text itself support that conclusion?<\/p>\n<h2>The heavenly sanctuary is a reality<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+8:1-2&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb 8:1\u20132<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Epistle to the Hebrews states: <b>the heavenly sanctuary is real<\/b>. The earthly tabernacle was only \u201ca copy and shadow of the heavenly things\u201d (Heb. 8:5). This directly supports the Adventist view: if the earthly sanctuary had two compartments and two phases of ministry (daily and yearly\u2014Yom Kippur), then the heavenly sanctuary corresponds to that structure.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cBehind the veil\u201d is a symbol, not a literal entry into the Most Holy Place<\/h2>\n<p>Critics claim that the phrase \u201centered behind the veil\u201d (Heb. 6:19\u201320) means that Christ has been in the Most Holy Place since the resurrection. But in Hebrews 10:19\u201320, the author himself explains the symbolism:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBy a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh.\u201d <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+10:20&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 10:20<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>The veil is a symbol of Christ\u2019s body and His sacrifice, not a literal pointer to a specific compartment of the sanctuary.<\/b> Therefore, to \u201center behind the veil\u201d means to enter God\u2019s presence through Christ\u2019s sacrifice\u2014not necessarily into the Most Holy Place from the very first day after the resurrection.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cOnce for all\u201d means the uniqueness of the sacrifice, not a single-phase ministry<\/h2>\n<p>Hebrews 9:12 is often quoted: <i>\u201cHe entered the sanctuary once for all\u201d<\/i>. But \u201conce for all\u201d refers to <b>the sacrifice\u2014not the entirety of the high-priestly ministry<\/b>. Christ offered Himself once and for all, unlike the earthly high priests who repeated sacrifices. But His ministry after the sacrifice continues.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion.<\/h2>\n<p>The Epistle to the Hebrews does not refute but supports the Adventist understanding: <b>there is a real heavenly sanctuary, there is a real high-priestly ministry of Christ there, and there is a heavenly counterpart to Yom Kippur.<\/b> The contradiction between Hebrews and the investigative judgment disappears
