And the Bible tells of his death in an unusual way.<\/b> He died before entering Canaan, and God Himself buried him\u2014but no one knows where (Deut. 34:5\u20136). <i>This mystery is not accidental.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Death and unusual burial<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\"So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord; and He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.\" <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Deuteronomy+34:5-6&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deut. 34:5\u20136<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>God personally took care of Moses' burial and concealed the place so that no one would know it. The Adventist explanation is: <b>God planned to resurrect Moses, and the hidden burial place prevented the grave from becoming an object of worship.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Michael's dispute with the devil<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\"Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, did not dare bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, 'The Lord rebuke you!'\" <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Jude+9&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jude 9<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This verse reveals what remained outside the scope of the Pentateuch. <b>The devil laid claim to Moses' body<\/b> \u2014apparently as his lawful possession. But Michael came to resurrect Moses. The fact that the dispute was specifically about the body indicates that this was not symbolism, but a real resurrection.<\/p>\n<h2>Moses on the Mount of Transfiguration<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\"And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.\" <cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew+17:3&amp;version=UKR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt. 17:3<\/a><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On the Mount of Transfiguration, Moses stands beside Elijah and speaks with Jesus. <b>Elijah was taken to heaven without death (2 Kings 2:11). Moses died, yet appears on equal footing.<\/b> This confirms that Moses was resurrected and is in heaven\u2014as a firstfruits of the resurrection, even before Christ's resurrection.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical meaning<\/h2>\n<p>This biblical line\u2014death, an unknown grave, Michael's dispute, the appearance at the Transfiguration\u2014 <b>has become for Adventists evidence that God has power over death and will restore His faithful ones.<\/b> The resurrection of Moses is a foreshadowing of the great resurrection at the Second Coming of Christ.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Bible does not say this in one line\u2014but the testimony of several texts together is convincing: Moses was resurrected and taken to heaven.
